2022 Digital Marketing Predictions

As we are just a few days away from 2022, our team has put together a list of new predictions for digital marketing in the new year.

We each have our own thoughts on where next year will take digital marketing too!

Whose predictions do you think is the most accurate?

Brittany’s Predictions for 2022:

-Content

Prioritize quality content. Businesses that focus on improving and using clear, attractive, engaging and informative content could improve their rankings, leads and conversions.

-Videos

Video digital marketing in campaigns are going to become more popular and yield more results for companies.

-Online events

The pandemic taught us that we can do things from home successfully. You will see more hybrid events so, people that can not attend in person can still attend just online.

Elizabeth’s Predictions for 2022:

A growing trend in social media platforms that will carry into 2022 is the removal of likes and improving mental health for users. We are already seeing users switch to this on Instagram and person Facebook pages. A lot of major brands - such as Lush - have opted to stop all social media marketing in 2022 due to the negative stigma it has on mental health.

Facebook is still pushing Facebook Groups as you can see they are sponsoring commercials on Hulu and Netflix centered around groups and building a welcoming environment for users to connect in. I do not think this will ever be pushed over to Instagram.

The metaverse is going to be a major push as they have already released beta versions of Horizon. This is an entirely new playing field for brands to market on. Becoming a “first adopter” to market a brand on the MetaVerse will yield large payouts to brands who engage in this new marketing medium.

Erin’s Predictions for 2022:

In 2022 I predict that Instagram will take the fame of 15 to 30 second videos from TikTok causing TikTok to start implementing different rules to their content creator status.

In addition, I predict that Facebook will start cleaning out it's space like groups. Users who are no longer active within the group will be removed with a notice.

There will also be more information released to consumers providing privacy rules and education.

I believe Snapchat will look into partnering or combining their app with dating apps like Tinder.
Twitter will merge into what Myspace was.
